Our S.P.C.A. Events

Valentine Dance

Every February, we sponsor our "SPCA Valentine Dance" in which local musicians perform shag and beach music suitable for dancing. Everyone who attends enjoys a great evening of fun, dancing, food, drinks and entertainment while at the same time supporting our Sumter SPCA and our shelter pets. The dance is intended for those 21 years of age or older. You can purchase a ticket in advance or at the door for this popular event.

Spaghetti Dinner

One of our most popular family fundraisers is our "Spaghetti Dinner". This evening of dining and entertainment includes a complete spaghetti dinner, desserts and drinks. As our entertainment, we are always excited to welcome Ms. Joan Burton, a professional singer/musician with over 15 years of experience, who has worked with musicians from legendary bands including "Starship" and "Foreigner". Originally from Rochester, NY, Joan now resides in Myrtle Beach and performs as a solo performer engaging audiences from a song list of over 200 selections mostly in the classic pop/rock and folk styles. Joan is an avid animal lover as well, and we are grateful to her for allowing us to feature her beautiful song, "Weary Eyes", on our website.

Woofstock

Our Sumter SPCA "Woofstock" is an event that usually takes place in the spring. The talents of local musicians and bands are highlighted during this outside event providing musical entertainment in a variety of genres. Local vendors, door prizes and food are also available. Please help support our organization by bringing your favorite leashed pet(s) and your lawn chairs and get ready for an awesome time!

Mutt Strut

Our Sumter SPCA "Mutt Strut/Paws With a Cause" fundraiser is an event which brings the public and their canine buddies together. This afternoon event usually takes place in the fall and is an animal celebration day and a pledge-driven community event. The public is invited to leash their pets and attend a day of music, vendors, food and fun. Participants and their pets are encouraged to "strut their stuff" by entering the "Pet Fashion Show". An incredible prize awaits the lucky participant who raises the most money in the Mutt Strut pledge drive.
