S.P.C.A. Bark Park Rules

1.   No animals other than dogs allowed into fenced area.

2.  Dogs shall wear a collar with ID and display dog park license and rabies vaccination at all times

     while in park.

3. All dogs must be leashed until safely inside the park and return to a leash prior to exiting the park. Owners/handlers must have one (1) leash per dog at all times.

4. Owners/handlers must remain in the fenced area while their dogs are using the park. Owners/handlers must be in view of their dogs with voice control at all times.

5.  Dog owners/handlers must be 18 or older to be allowed in the park area.  Children accompanying dog owner/handlers must be strictly supervised be an adult.  Spectators should remain outside the fence.  Children are STRICTLY PROHIBITED from playing on any dog park items. Do not bring small children into park. Dogs may accidentally knock them over during play/agility activity.

6.  Aggressive dogs and dogs in heat are not allowed inside the park.  Owners/handlers must immediately leash and remove dogs from the park at first sign of aggression, hostility, or combative behavior.

7.   Dog owners/handlers must pick up after their dog(s) and use proper disposal containers provided.  If you

     do not clean up after your dog, your membership may be revoked.

8.   While small bite-sized training treats are permitted, food in bowls, long-lasting chews or glass containers are not permitted.

9.  Smoking, food and alcoholic beverages are not allowed inside the park.

10. Sick or injured dogs are not allowed inside the park.  Owners/handlers of dogs with a known sickness/injury or displaying sick or injured behavior will be required to remove their dog(s) immediately from the park.

11. Each adult may have a maximum of three (3) dogs  at a time inside the park.

12. Puppies less than four (4) months old are not permitted inside the park.

13. Absolutely NO female dogs in heat allowed in the park at any time.

14. Owners/handlers are, at all times, solely responsible and liable for any injury or damage caused by  their  dogs  and  are  fully responsible for their own dogs’ actions.  Never leave your dog(s) unattended.  If your dog inflicts an injury, you must give your name and telephone number to the other dog owner/handler before leaving. The SPCA should be contacted concerning any injuries taking place in the park.

15. Your dog(s) should be reasonably confident and social.  They need to be responsive to basic cues –as COME, SIT, DOWN.

16. NO digging!!!!

17. Recreational bicycles, tricycles, big wheels, wagons, roller-blades, skateboards and the like are not permitted inside the park.

18. Shirts and shoes must be worn inside the park at all times.

 19. NO professional or commercial training is allowed without permission.

20. All dogs and owners/handlers must use the park at their own risk.   Owners/handlers must sign a liability and waiver form prior to the use of park.

21. Dog owner/handlers must never use their pass to allow another dog owner/handler into the park. Failure to abide by this rule will result in loss of membership and park privileges.  No refund will be given.  This policy will be strictly enforced.

22. Dog owners/handlers who fail to abide by the rules and regulations are subject to loss of membership privileges.

23.  The Sumter SPCA reserves the right to refuse any animals for any reason deemed appropriate by the SPCA.
